The "Strategery" of American Verbiage

Facts as I see them:

1. If you can't remember a word that you want to use...it is perfectly appropriate to make one up. People will know what you " mean."

2. I feel that Bush made this practice acceptable.

3. I do it often- my friends and family will attest to this. It is only embarrassing when your BFF calls you on it and laughs uncontrollably. Like when I said "Tresemen" instead of "TresSemme." My husband likes the " bandoozled" for "banboozled." or "Bamboozled"-( as J. as brought to my attention.)

4. My favorite made-up word comes from Scott's grandmother. Scott's Mom was dressed for a night out & his Meme says, " Look at you....all Dyked out!!"

4. There are many words that are considered "American" - I know this, because people look at me oddly when I use the words. With the help of friends and family- I am compiling a list-

a. Pop- Soda Pop

b. Soda- Carbonated Beverage

b. Stove- (Stove is "cooker" here)

c. Cap- Baseball cap

d. Hater- Mean person

e. Fussy-Irritable

f. Antsy- Restless

g. Oh Snap-Surprise, misfortune or insult

h. Popo- The PO-lice

i. Ho- Prostitute-like

J. Roll- "affirmative predisposition"

Send me your "American" words- Made up or real!

Today at Lunch

Between video games, dinner and bedtime- Chandler and I had this conversation-

Me: "Dad told me to ask you about your lunch today..."
Chan: "Huh? Oh Yeah- we went to Chick King."
Me: "And....why did Dad want me to talk to you about it?"
Chan: "Oh YEAH! There was a real drunk man there."
Me: "AND...."
Chan: "And he came in...could barely stand up. He kept talking to me and my friend. We couldn't understand. But, finally, we figured out that he wanted bread to feed the swan that was outside."
Me: "Was there a swan outside of Chick King ? "
Chan: (laughing) NO! But, the drunk guy went outside- he couldn't even stand- had to lean against the wall to pull out his wallet. He took out a tener and gave it to my friend.
Me: Why?
Chan: To buy bread. So, he went to the centre and bought bread for the guy. The man stayed to talk to me. When my friend came back with the bread and his change- the man wouldn't take the change back. He took the bread and left. So, we split the money.
Me: Oh- could you lend me 2 euro?

Kilkenny Ireland

Finally get to update. This is from last weekend.
Got to see this little one being birthed- Can you see the baby?
I lightened it up a little so you could actually see mama and baby there.

Yeah- O'Gorman's is the BEST!

River Nore- opposite direction of the castle-

The Castle Kilkenny-

So, I figured out that the critter living in my room is NOT under the bed- It is nesting in my hair. Who knew? I do have both a comb and a brush- but I guess I forgot how to use them. I had to delete the photos actually showing the rats nest around my face. You are welcome.

It is a contest!

I know that my posts aren't the most interesting- so I am going to bribe my family and friends with a little contest. Below are pics from places that I have blogged about or lived in within the past 6 months. The first person to correctly label or identify the places will receive a mini-gift package from Ireland. Snow Day

Chan got his first snow day today!!! I remember having them in Albuquerque and was thrilled for him. This isn't a great pictures- but someone built a snow dog- Can you see it? Very cute.
Is this the same pic?

Blizzard-

So, I got to impress Chan with my ability to build a snowman. We worked at it for about an hour last night. Had a blast & then, this morning- he...fell asleep- against the wall...like he was...drunk.

The house across the street.

IDK- I have to throw @ least one bad picture a post.

Happy Snow Day!
